The Crucible Begins!

In the play, The Crucible by Arthur Miller, the character Abigail starts out as the main focus of the story. Abigail is fixated on wanting to get rid of John Proctor’s wife so that she could instead be with John Proctor herself. So far, Abigail is my least favorite character because of her actions. Abigail is very manipulative and tries to get away with anything that she wants. She tries to cover up what she did at the forest by throwing Tituba under the bus. Not only did she betray someone that only ever helped her, but Abigail was also able to set up Elizabeth Proctor and get her arrested. The way she did this was by stabbing herself which proves just how much she really wished to be with John Proctor. Even I have to admit that’s dedication. In the end, Abigail didn’t even end up getting to be with John Proctor, and instead caused lots of trouble for the other citizens of Salem . Her actions were extremely destructive toward others but Abigail never seemed to understand ...
